Watchdog filming 'Diesel' barchetta.

In January 1999, BBC Watchdog took up the case of the barchetta camshaft variator problem, on behalf of Pete Richards. He'd been refused free replacement due to his car being 2 years old. Abigail Flanagan, and Libby Turner from the programme contacted both the UK owners club and Marc Kloosterman for information regarding the problem. Within a day they had concrete proof that FIAT had a variable policy on fixing this recurring fault, and that the parts were still failing. Upwards of 30 people contacted the show to register their problems.

The filming consisted of 2 Silver Diesels:- Nick Warner, and Pete Richards, and 2 Yellow cars who'd had to, or were looking at paying for this themselves.

Here are some photos of the day.
